I took my Daughter, after referral from 111. My daughter lives in Cardiff, having been at uni there and stayed there. She has been battling with mental health but it is getting harder to keep her safe. She has harmed herself, took too many tablets, used alcohol etc to stop voices in head etc and goes to a and e in Cardiff, gets seen and sent home again. Therefore I brought her home to look after her till better. However today, please excuse if spelt wrong, Dr Masood spent time talking to us but was unable to treat my daughter, Katie, as she is still registered in Cardiff. But Dr spent time to explain the reason and also the help that could be offered back in Cardiff or if Katie re-registered with Drs in Benfleet. I was so grateful for the amazing time spent explaining everything but am left dumbfounded by the system and that despite the help needed, as you are not registered in the area, but in Cardiff, further treatment could not be offered in more detail unless re-register, and even then it could still take time for systems to take registration back. I totally understand the explanation and that it is not Drs fault but this is unbelievable how these decisions are made and how an unsafe individual can be left in limbo whilst away from home. In saying that, huge thanks to Dr for kindness and time spent explaining everything and different options that may be useful going forward.

Due to the system, nothing more could be done. Not hospital fault but how NHS is set up.

You need more beds and a follow up clinic.

Mel was great and the nursing team helped me when I was distressed.
